Nomcebo Zwane

Nompumelelo Dladla

Nomcebo Zwane

I am the founder of Kasi Women Parliament (KWP) which seeks to emancipate both men and women from the shackles of poverty, joblessness and inequality.

My focus over the years has been to vociferously challenge the conundrum of Gender Based Violence which resonates with the patriarchal system masquerading as cultural practices.

I consistently fought against the justification in certain sectors of society that it is a circumstantial norm for people to live in abject poverty hence as a leader of the Women Student Command, at Mgwenya College of Education I always advocated for the holistic development of the human capital. Believing that quality education is the only tool to emancipate society from lack of access to economic resources aligned to effective participation in the mainstream economy.

Poverty could not limit my potential, I took a conscious decision to further my studies through UNISA and received a Bachelor Degree, Honours Degree in education specialising in Curriculum Development and Sociology

Sociology and Curriculum Development sowed an innate seed for a passion in community development. It is pleasurable to see Kasi Women Parliament take a huge leap, it's traction amounts to approximately 2000 members.

I posses immense body of knowledge in respect of human development which of course is an integral part of social transformation and development.

I was a Director for a number of years in the Office of the Premier coordinating the Social Cluster comprising of Education, Health, Social Development, Human Settlements and the Department of Culture Sports and Recreation.

Other competencies accumulated over years of service hinges on project monitoring, policy formulation, project management, administration and policy analysis. Acting as a Chief Director has sharpened my prowess on Economic Development and Governance

The zeal to liberate myself from the trappings of poverty propelled me to further my studies with the University of Pretoria against all odds I received a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a pending LLB with UNISA.

Enhancing township economy with full participation of capable local people is the noble idea KWP will pursue unfazed working side by side with government departments and other civil society organisations.
